After extensive research, interviews and a review of archives, we are pleased to publish the book ‘Die Wiesenburg – The history of a special shelter’. Paired with impressive photographs and illustrations, authoress Heather Allen covers the rich history of this place in its entirety for the first time… from its opening as a homeless shelter in 1896, its eventful history, its development into a cultural site, until 2014, when the site was transferred to the municipal housing association degewo.
+ The history book underlines
the commitment of the association ‘Die Wiesenburg e.V.’ to the preservation of this location, also as an important testimony to Berlin’s social history.
